    The eIDAS 2 Draft regulation is a good example of a framework that is designed to meet potential risks and unintended consequences. The eIDAS 2 draft is accompanied by Large Scale Pilots, a Trilogue between European Commission, Council and Parliament, and the open source implementation of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW).

      Recognizing the rapidly evolving technology landscape and the potential risks and consequences associated with the introduction of new technologies and architectural paradigms into digital identity systems, it is important for governments to take a proactive approach in considering the longer-term implications. This includes identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, as well as engaging with relevant stakeholders, including the private sector and civil society, to ensure that the design and implementation of digital identity systems are transparent and inclusive;
